Ionic is bringing back again the early 2000’s “legendary hardtail mountain bike”, the Johnny Rotten Hardtail. I guess the John Joseph Lydon Hardtail didn’t quite roll off the tongue.

With pre-orders staying taken now, Ionic is declaring that the first batch of bikes will be total and prepared to deliver in February 2023 if not quicker. And look, I’ve heard that securing just one of these rigs will maximize your General public Graphic tenfold… eh, eh? See what I did there? You’re welcome.

Ionic claims these frames are “hand-created in Boulder Co. by folks who know and like bicycles.” 

While specifics on the frame specification and content are restricted, Ionic does condition that, “we create each body with a distinctive mix of Tange Prestige and Deda that is exclusive to Ionic you will not uncover on other bikes out there.”

Build Kits and Pricing

Ionic is giving 4 distinct order choices, according to their site. It is a little bewildering, but if we have an understanding of it the right way you have the choice of:

  • Johnny Rotten Hardtail 29er body only: $2250
  • Jonny Rotten frame furthermore Fork and Headset (fork not specified, but perhaps the RockShox Pike Choose from entire builds): $3,140
  • Total SRAM Eagle GX develop: $5,321
  • Total SRAM Eagle XO1 develop: $7,498

Ionic is providing the bikes in measurements modest as a result of X-Massive. There’s also the choice for a personalized frame with a $500 upcharge and an further 4-6 week direct time.
